Scottish actor, writer and director Peter Capaldi -- best known for portraying the twelfth incarnation of the ‘Doctor’ in BBC’s Landmark television series “Doctor Who” from 2013 to 2017 -- discusses his career, shares behind-the-scenes stories and answers fan questions at his 2019 Fan Expo Canada Q&A panel in Toronto.
Peter Dougan Capaldi (born April 14th 1958) is also well known for portraying 'Malcolm Tucker' the spin doctor in "The Thick of It" (2005-2012) for which he has received four British Academy Television Award nominations, winning Best Male Comedy Performance in 2010. When he reprised the role of Tucker in the feature film "In the Loop" (2005-2012), Capaldi was honoured with several film critics award nominations for Best Supporting Actor. As a director, he won an Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film and the BAFTA Award for Best Short Film for his short film "Franz Kafka's It's a Wonderful Life" (1993). Capaldi went on to write and direct the drama film "Strictly Sinatra" (2001) and directed two series of the sitcom "Getting On" (2009-2010).
