Yeah, I think a guy my age owes ESPN a debt for their old "Glory Days" program. Heard the stories, but never saw the old films. People have written books about Cobra vs. Ferrari in the GT class..I didn't realize the Corvette "Grand Sport" program was supposed to run for Prototype honors. Still, to me it's a cool thing to see Roger Penske actually driving a car,
Gurney saying he's cutting better laps than the Ferraris up in Prototype, but it didn't work out. I dig it that Dave MacDonald with Bondurant are getting the GT win with the Daytona Coupe. I just recorded this because I was curious about the history of my sport so long ago..I'm glad I kept it until I was old enough to realize how cool it was. Man, I went to look for a copy of Shoen's book..but any copy that still exists is
seriously expensive. Grr. Oh, and for my SCCA buddies..the commentary team talks to Tullius for half a minute.
