Juliana Mdamvetsa Lunguzi is one of the few young Malawian politicians. A devout Catholic, she is a member of parliament for Dedza East representing the Malawi Congress Party. A midwife and community nurse, she heads the Parliamentary Committee on Health and a shadow minister of Health in Parliament.
Juliana is an outspoken politician whose character has drawn mixed reactions from people in and outside of her political party. Recently she expressed her disapproval of her party’s support of the Salima – Lilongwe water project.
