After Diana Rigg's departure from The Avengers in 1967, Wanda Ventham was one of the actresses considered for a starring role opposite Patrick Macnee (John Steed). This is a screen test featuring Wanda that came with The Avengers - Series 6 box set. Wanda had previously starred in The Avengers episode 'The Gravediggers' (1965).
Although she didn't get the part--the role of Tara King would of course go to Linda Thorson--it's still nice to see Wanda as a potential Avengers leading lady, even just for a few minutes!
