Callahan had this to say after the race:
"I got away third in a spot that I thought I was going to be first-up when Yannick (Gingras, driving Filibuster Hanover) made Brian (Sears, driving Downbytheseaside) get in behind him.
"As soon as I moved, Brian came, so I stayed behind him for awhile, just to see what was going to go on. It looked like Yannick still had plenty of go, so I went back to the inside.
"My horse made a good run at it, but Yannick's horse was really sharp today. He was good for that final."
