A lecture by well known community historian Brendan Matthews on the life of artist Nano Reid.
Nano Reid, who was born and died in Drogheda, is remembered as one of Ireland’s finest artists. Her work, which includes landscapes, figure painting and portraits, was recently featured in a major exhibition at the Highlanes Gallery marking the 40th anniversary of her death. Brendan has contributed to the research of her life and he has led a number of walking tours of Drogheda describing the artist’s connection with the town and the town’s influence on her work.
This lecture was recorded during a lecture on 8 November 2022 in the Barbican Centre in Drogheda for the County Louth Archaeological and Historical Society.
