As a little girl back in Kerugoya, Nelius Mukami's wish was to have a toilet inside the house. She never really dreamed of becoming a mother because of the struggles she saw her mom go through as a single mother. But when she got married and wanted to start a family, she was diagnosed with endometriosis which would make it difficult to conceive. With triplets in her belly, she went into labour at 28 weeks, and things went from bad to worse. She was lost in depression, grieving the person she used to be, that she nearly lost her life. Mukami's story is that of how pain beautified her into becoming a better human being.
