You need to troubleshoot your transmission when the problem is NOT your belt/cable, idler assembly or shear pins. I’m going to open up the gear/chain case to see if we have a broken chain or gear.
When the engine runs fine but the tines won’t move or crawl, this means the tiller drive system is the issue and you may need to diagnose the transmission problem. If a gear fails, it can lead to other gears or the chains being compromised, as any broken parts or pieces of the broken gear can get pulled into other components of the transmission mechanism and cause a complete failure.
Stay tuned for my follow up video where I repair the transmission. This means replacing some broken parts, so parts are on order.
