Monroe County Memories: An Oral History Project presents an interview with Eric Hoffman, recorded May 20, 2022.
In conversation with Dr. Martin Wilson, retired Professor of History at East Stroudsburg University, Eric Hoffman shares the ninety-year history of the West End Fire Company, beginning with delivery of the company's first apparatus, the Buffalo, on February 11, 1932. Mr. Hoffman also reflects on some of his own experiences with the fire company, which he joined as a junior member at age 16. He also discusses his family's long history in Chestnuthill Township, including his third-generation family business, The Hoffman Agency, the second-oldest business in the township.
