In this sequence Dr. John Carter (Noah Wyle) is frantically attempting to revive a drowning victim. The situation seems bleak as he does everything he can to stabilize her. Carter deals with telling the father that the patient may not recover. Meanwhile, 12 hours into the future, Dr. Greg Pratt (Mekhi Phifer) is surprised to discover the same patient has miraculously improved. He takes delight in giving her father the good news.
