Aerosmith grubunun 1973 yılında yine aynı isimle çıkardığı albümünün 3 numaralı şarkısı.
Steve Tyler'ın söylediğine göre bu şarkı onun gerçek sesini kullandığı ilk albüm şarkısıydı, gerçek sesi konusunda güvensizdi, kaset kaydında beğenilmeyeceğini düşünüyordu. Bu nedenle sesini biraz daha farklı tonda kullanıyordu. (James Brown gibi.)
Fakat 'dream on' şarkısı çıktığı andan itibaren şarkı listelerinde üst sıralara yerleşti ve halen günümüzde pek çok kişi için gelmiş geçmiş en iyi Aerosmith şarkısıdır.
Ayrıca Eminem şarkının sample'larını ve nakaratlarını kullanarak 'sing for the moment' şarkısını oluşturmuştur, kesinlikle dinlemeye değer..
