I'll show you how to make 'eomuk bokkeum,' a side dish often served at Korean restaurants.
It's great on its own, but even better with rice!

Eomuk gamja bokkeum (4 servings)

[Ingredients]

6 sheets (240g) thin sagak eomuk
1 (180g) potato
about 2/3 cup (130ml) water
1/2 (125g) onion
6 (70g) bong eomuk
1/2 stalk (50g) green onion
5 tbsp (50g) thick soy sauce
2 (20g) Cheongyang peppers
1 tbsp (20g) minced garlic
2 tbsp (14g) cooking oil
2 tbsp (14g) sesame oil
1 tbsp (12g) brown sugar
1 1/2 (9g) fine chili pepper powder
some whole sesame seeds

[Directions]

1. Slice the sagak eomuk horizontally in half. Then, thinly slice into 2cm pieces. Slice the bong eomuk diagonally into 1cm pieces.
2. Chop the onion in half and chop into 2cm pieces.
3. Chop the green onion and Cheongyang peppers into 0.3cm pieces.
4. Quarter the potato and chop into 0.3cm pieces.
5. In a deep frying pan, add the eomuk, green onion, Cheongyang peppers, potato, cooking oil, and minced garlic and place over high heat.
6. When it starts sizzling, stir until the ingredients are combined. Then, add water, thick soy sauce, and brown sugar and boil down.
7. When the sauce has seeped into the eomuk, add the fine chili pepper powder and combine.
8. When the water has boiled down and it starts to look glazed, add the sesame oil and combine.
9. Sprinkle whole sesame seeds. Plate and serve.
Tip. You can sprinkle more whole sesame seeds after plating.
