Features the Belmont Stakes victories of Secretariat's son Risen Star (1988), grandson A.P. Indy (1992), and A.P. Indy's daughter Rags to Riches (2007); and Secretariat's own historic Belmont run to win the 1973 Triple Crown. Only three horses, including his father, have ever run the Belmont Stakes faster than Risen Star, who shares the record for third-fastest time with Point Given; only Secretariat, Count Fleet, and Man O' War finished the Belmont with larger margins than Risen Star's 14 1/2 length victory. Ten percent of Risen Star's winnings were donated to the 'Little Sisters of the Poor,' a Roman Catholic order of nuns, shown celebrating after his victory. Only Secretariat finished the Belmont faster than grandson A.P. Indy (Seattle Slew - Weekend Surprise), who shares the record for the second-fastest time with Easy Goer. Through 2011, A.P. Indy sired 140 stakes winners, and is considered the most influential sire of his generation. He is grandsire to Zenyatta's first foal, Cozmic One (Bernardini), and great grandsire to her younger son Ziconic (Tapit). In 2007, A.P. Indy's daughter Rags to Riches, a beautiful chestnut who remarkably resembles her great grandsire Secretariat, became the first filly to win the Belmont Stakes in 102 years. The filly beat Preakness winner Curlin after stumbling out of the gate in the far post position. She has been bred to Giant's Causeway, Henrythenavigator, and to Galileo, the Irish champion top sire of super horse Frankel. Secretariat's world record 2:24 still stands more than four decades later. His record 31-length margin is commemorated by a blue-and-white striped pole inside the main track at Belmont Park. The pole shows that Secretariat won the Belmont Stakes by more than three-quarters of a sixteenth of a mile. Music: 'Band of Brothers' original HBO TV miniseries soundtrack (2001) by Michael Kamen; 'Secretariat' original motion picture soundtrack (2010) by Nick Glennie-Smith. "Extraordinary care must be taken of the horses, upon which everything depends." -- U.S. Major General William T. Sherman, American Civil War, during which 80,000 horses died on battlefields in service to the men whose lives depended upon them.
