Jessica Delfino presents "A Brief History of Comedy in the Poconos" as part of the Monroe County Historical Association's Third Thursday Lecture Series.
The program covers the history of comedic performers in the Pocono region, focusing on the 20th century into the present day, and attempts to answer the question, "What happened to this once-booming entertainment mecca?" Delfino's presentation features interviews, images, history, and facts involving some of the era and area's one-time biggest comedic entertainers.
During the day, Jessica Delfino is a mom, publicist, host of the weekly "Mom Report" on Pocono 96.7 FM, and a freelance writer for The New York Times and other publications. By night, she is a delightfully twisted comedic musician who sings original comedic songs along with "mutilated classic rock covers," performing at clubs and festivals worldwide.
